I thought I’d share this interview of a survey pilot at NAAS I came across, on how he got the job and what the job is like.
To fly for NAAS, you typically need 600 total hours, 500 PIC, and 100 multi-engine hours. If you're short on multi-engine time (like Joe was at ~60 hours), you can sit in the right seat until you hit that 100-hour threshold, then transition to PIC. Alternatively, you can enter as a sensor operator first to get your foot in the door while building hours. I’ll let the interviewee speak for himself though:
